Body found in Green County creek

GREENSBURG, Ky. – A body was found in a creek in Green County Friday.

According to Green County Emergency Management, the 911 center received a report from kayakers that they found a body tangled in brush along Big Pitman Creek in the Montgomery Mill area.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

The Kentucky State Police is now investigating the incident.

According to Green County Emergency Management, officials planned to release the identity of the body after the next of kin was notified. They say they released a statement because several news outlets were reporting.

The investigation is ongoing.
