BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green resident has been charged after police say shots were fired outside of a Dollar General.

The Bowling Green Police Department says it responded around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday to the 900 block of Morgantown Road for multiple calls about shots fired.

Police say they found shell casings at the scene, but no one was injured.

According to police, witnesses told them they were entering the Dollar General when a man approached from the back of a restaurant across the street and began firing shots.

Police say video surveillance showed a man had arrived in a black Chrysler 300 at the restaurant parking lot that day.

Police say they later found the vehicle and Joshua E. James, 18, who matched the surveillance description, at Abel Court Apartments.

After obtaining a search warrant, police say they located clothing James wore in the footage in James’ apartment but did not find a weapon.

James was taken to the Warren County Detention Center, where he faces three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and one count of first-degree criminal mischief.
