BG Strong Community Blood Drive commemorates tornado, donate now

Blood Assurance

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Blood Assurance is hosting a mobile blood drive to commemorate last year’s deadly tornadoes.

You can roll up your sleeve for the Bowling Green Strong Community Blood Drives initiative at a number of locations starting tomorrow through next Friday.

The blood-mobile made its first stop at WNKY today. Tomorrow, the bus will take donations again here at our news station on Chestnut Street from noon to 6 p.m.

Blood Assurance says when last December’s deadly storms stuck, community-wide blood donations helped save lives.

Blood Assurance Media relations coordinator Max Winitz said, “A lot of people aren’t donating blood, so if you feel healthy we want to get you out here. We want you to roll up your sleeve, be a hero and donate this life-saving fluid.”

Winitz says a single donation can save three lives.
