Bell ringers and financial donations needed for the Salvation Army
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Salvation Army is requesting volunteer bell ringers for this holiday season.
Over 80% of the money collected will stay in Barren County.
The funds will go toward children on the Angel Tree program to purchase gifts and clothes for Christmas.
Left over funds will be used throughout the year for emergency situations for Barren County residents in need.
“Volunteering and helping those who don’t have, parents are working very hard, but it is the time of the year where expenses exceed your income. And I love the fact that we are blessed enough in this community to help others and to exceed our goals in any way. Just being available in this community to offer a hand to someone who doesn’t have is a blessing among itself,” said Joan Norris, a volunteer for the Barren County Salvation Army.
The donation locations include Walmart, Save A Lot and Houchens.
