Barren River Lake State Resort Park beach opening delayed due to water level

LUCAS, Ky. – Barren River Lake State Resort Park says there is an ongoing delay to opening its beach for the season.

According to a social media post by Barren River Lake State Resort Park on Wednesday, July 8, the lake is currently 4.4 feet below summer pool.

The post says another foot of water is needed in the swim area to safely open the beach.

This follows an update in late May, where the beach was still delayed to open due to low water levels.
