Barren River Lake recreation area set to close for control tower maintenance

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – The Barren River Lake – US Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District, announced the closure of a recreation area Tuesday.
According to a social media post, the Port Oliver Recreation Area at Barren River Lake will temporarily close Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14.
Officials say the closure will allow crews to work on maintenance at the Barren River Lake Control Tower. Large equipment and cranes will be operating in the area.
Gates will close at 7:30 pm on Sunday, August 9, and the area is expected to reopen the following weekend, according to the post.
