GLASGOW, Ky. – A new student-led campaign is promoting safety throughout the school district.

According to Barren County Schools, students at Barren County High School and Trojan Academy have created “Rock the Belt,” a campaign that encourages peers and community members to buckle up while driving.

The Barren County SADD club aims to highlight school safety and raise awareness of Kentucky teens who have died in motor vehicle crashes.

Students also participated in a “Quick Click Challenge.” The challenge featured students being timed as they moved between seats in a parked car to see how quickly they could buckle their seat belts.

BCS says students are also hosting a seat-belt safety campaign on social media by posting #RocktheBelt with their photos to encourage safe driving.
