Barren County Schools awarded $12,240 WHAS Crusade for Children grant

GLASGOW, Ky. — Barren County Schools has been awarded a $12,240 grant from the WHAS Crusade for Children to purchase specialized equipment for students with diverse abilities.
According to the district, the grant was awarded through the WHAS Crusade for Children’s 2026-27 grant program.
Funds will be used to purchase specialized seating and desks, along with additional adaptive equipment, including large-screen Chromebooks, large-screen iPads with protective cases, adaptive and sensory floor seating, weighted lap pads, a functional hand device and a study carrel, according to Barren County Schools.
“We are incredibly grateful to the WHAS Crusade for Children and to the donors who make these grants possible each year,” said Christa Middleton, director of Special Programs. “This funding will allow us to provide specialized equipment that helps remove barriers to learning and gives our students the tools they need to succeed. We appreciate the Crusade’s continued investment in the children of Barren County.”
The resources will provide students with greater access to learning while supporting their individual physical, sensory, and instructional needs, the district says.
Barren County Schools says it is proud to partner with the WHAS Crusade for Children to empower every child to reach their full potential.
