Barren County honors hometown YouTuber

GLASGOW, Ky. – A YouTube star from Glasgow receives quite the honor on Wednesday from his hometown.

Wednesday afternoon Barren County honored Cord Glass, better known on YouTube as Crypt The Rapper, with a proclamation of recognition.

Glass said, “It’s really cool that the county and the city itself has recognized everything that I’ve done here. They’ve helped me out a ton throughout all of this.”

Barren County Judge-Executive Michael Hale presented Glass with the proclamation next to a rail park in the town that Glass shot some of his songs in front of.

The rail park is just one of many Glasgow landmarks featured in his music videos. Glass has performed in front of many of the places in town, each video reaching his more than 1.15 million subscribers.

Judge Hale, Bridge Kentucky and Glasgow Tourism said they’re proud this hometown star is expanding the way people appreciate the town – through media and entertainment.

Hale said, “He’s promoting our community because when he shoots these videos and they go viral, people are going to want to know where is he? Where is he at? Well, he’s in Barren County, Kentucky.”
