Barren County and City of Glasgow proclaim April as ‘Child Abuse Awareness Month’

GLASGOW, Ky.- The City of Glasgow and Barren County signed a joint proclamation Tuesday to proclaim April as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

City and county officials joined in front of the Barren County courthouse wearing blue, which stands for support and hope for a healthy childhood.

Officials said that preventing child abuse starts with training parents and helping lessen stress on families.

“National child abuse prevention month is April 2026. To all whom presents shall come, child abuse prevention month has been observed every April,” said Jamie Byrd, Barren County judge executive.
