Audit: Spending irregularities found in 3 prosecutor offices

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky’s auditor says a review of three county attorney offices has turned up spending irregularities. Auditor Mike Harmon says the findings will be turned over to state and federal law enforcement authorities. The reviews were of the Boyd, Gallatin and Lawrence county attorney offices. Harmon said Thursday that the reviews covered activity from July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2019. Based on the findings, Harmon is calling on state lawmakers to enact legislation next year to require an annual audit of all county attorney offices.
