TriStar Greenview receives award for stroke care

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local hospital is receiving an award for outstanding care for stroke patients.

TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green received the Get with the Guidelines Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Silver Quality Achievement award.

Stroke is the number five cause of death and leading cause of adult disability in the United States according to the American Heart Association.

The award recognizes the hospital’s ability to take care of stroke patients quickly and effectively.

The award requires specific achievement measures for the diagnosis and treatment of stroke patients.

This is the first time in years the hospital has received this award, according to Charlotte O’Neal, stroke coordinator, TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital.

On average, someone in the U.S. suffers a stroke every 40 seconds.
