Ross Medical begins food drive to benefit hungry students in Warren County
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One local medical technical school is doing more than educating students on how to take vitals.
They’re also giving back to those in need.
Starting today, students and staff at Ross Medical Education Center have begun collecting food donations to feed hungry students in Warren County through the Warren County Public Schools Synergy Center.
The food drive will help provide students who don’t get to eat again after leaving school a snack they can eat on the go.
Every month, Ross Medical targets an organization to give back to.
Last week, they collected coloring books and crayons for kids which Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower picked up. Those items will be given to kids when the sheriff’s office answers a call in which children are present.
Michael Bishop, an instructor who’s been at Ross Medical for six years, said this effort is to do more than feed students but encourage them to be their best selves in the community.
If you would like to donate, you can stop in at Ross Medical anytime from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
On Friday, donations are being accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The food drive lasts until the end of March.
