FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Gov. Andy Beshear says the toll from the coronavirus rose by another 88 deaths in Kentucky from Saturday to Monday. He said Monday that several virus patients in their 20s and 30s were among the fatalitieis. Beshear reported more than 8,500 new COVID-19 cases during the three days. Most COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths since March 1 have been among the unvaccinated. The governor says Kentucky reached a vaccination milestone. He says 70% of Kentuckians eligible to receive COVID-19 shots have received at least one dose. He says that’s not enough in the fight against the delta variant.
