Trade acquisitions from previous years are paying dividends for the Tampa Bay Lightning and Montreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup Final. Lightning 2020 additions Blake Coleman and Barclay Goodrow combined on the goal that won Game 2. Canadiens 2018 pickup Nick Suzuki scored their only goal that night and helped them reach the final. Tampa Bay general manager Julien BriseBois gave up a lot for Coleman and Goodrow figuring they’d be able to help on two playoff runs. Coach Jon Cooper called them the final piece of the Lightning’s Stanley Cup puzzle. They’re two wins away from putting it together again.
