Itty bitty kitty influx on its way to local shelters as the seasons change
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Local humane societies are preparing for the annual influx of kitties and puppies that come during the spring and summer.
It is mating season, and with that comes a ton of kittens and often quite a few puppies.
Cats are the biggest influx, so local shelters are looking for foster parents to sign up to take in fur babies who may need a temporary home.
But the biggest help to shelters is to neuter and spay your pets.
Local humane societies are experience a 200%-400% increase of intakes from winter to spring and summer, according to Ruby Fooks, the director of the Butler County Humane Society.
If you are interested in donating supplies, fostering, or having a pet spayed or neutered, contact your local humane society.
