Massive Fire Destroys Texas Construction Site
Firefighters said when they arrived at the scene, they ran into a number of issues, including getting water pressure and scaffolding. KPRC's Brittany Jeffers reports.
(KPRC/NBC News) — Firefighters responded to a massive three-alarm fire at an apartment building in Katy, Texas Wednesday.
Officials said the blaze broke out around 6:33 a.m. at San Tierra Apartments.
According to the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, the apartment building appears was still under construction.
Firefighters said when they arrived at the scene, they ran into a number of issues, including getting water pressure and scaffolding.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown. Officials said one firefighter from an assisting agency was transported for heat exhaustion, but no other injuries were reported.
Some residents in a neighboring apartment complex owned by the same company said they could feel the heat from the blaze and that it was so intense, some windows were cracking.
