Decision 2020: Biden Takes Lead In Florida

New poll finds Democratic presidential nominee leading among likely voters in the crucial swing state. NBC's Alice Barr reports.

(NBC News) — President Trump speaks to undecided voters in Philadelphia Tuesday, while Joe Biden makes his first visit to Florida as the Democratic nominee, seeking to appeal to Hispanic voters who could help turn the election.

A new Monmouth University poll shows Biden leading the race by five points in that critical swing state.

Earlier in the day the former vice president focused on the military vote, meeting with veterans in Tampa.

“I’ll always have your back, like you’ve had our back, and the country’s back,” Mr. Biden said.

President Trump, meanwhile, spent the first half of his day focused on the signing of an historic diplomatic agreement he helped broker normalizing relations between Israel and two Arab countries, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.

“It’s a very important day for the world. It’s a very important day for peace,” Mr. Trump said.

The agreement could mean a dramatic shift in the balance of power in the Middle East, though it does not include a fix to one of the region’s central problems: The entrenched conflict between Israel and Palestine.
