Woman hospitalized after a shooting in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – One woman is hospitalized following a shooting Monday night in Allen County.

According to a press release, Dustie Burton, 38, of Scottsville, suffered a single gunshot wound to her upper body.

The shooting stems from an ongoing domestic issue at the residence involving family of Dustie and her husband, John Paul Burton, according to police.

Burton was arrested at the scene on an outstanding arrest warrant unrelated to the shooting.

Dustie is at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, according to Allen County Sheriff Jeff Cooke.

This is an ongoing investigation.
