Clayton gives update on Warren County Public Schools to Bowling Green Rotary Club

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- All this month, the Bowling Green Rotary Club is welcoming community educators to the podium.

On Wednesday afternoon, Rotarians welcomed the Superintendent of Warren County Public Schools, Rob Clayton.

Clayton spoke to a packed house at the Rotary Club’s weekly meeting at Bowling Green County Club.

Clayton talked about a number of issues including school safety, diversity in the district and the school system’s march toward becoming the Commonwealth’s most energy efficient district.

Clayton said by becoming more energy efficient, Warren County Public Schools is saving $850,000 per year.

Although there are many positives, there are also challenges, according to Clayton, including funding from Frankfort.

“I’m confident that with the talent that we have and the value of the people in our community place upon education, that we can continue to minimize the negative impact of limited resources,” said Clayton. “Nonetheless, going forward, we still have to educate our people in Frankfort and in our community that we have to truly fund the true cost of education for our students.”

Next week, Rotarians will hear remarks from Dr. Phillip Neal, the president of South Central Kentucky Community and Technical College.
