Kentucky Air National Guard sends two teams to help with Florence

The Kentucky Air Guard sent two teams of special operators.

The mission is to assist in rescue and recovery efforts for now tropical depression Florence.

The team was up in the early hours of Saturday getting ready to pack up and head out.

These two teams can offer a lot.

They provide everything from stand-alone communications to rescue and recovery efforts.

They also have critical paramedic capabilities.

These teams assisted in similar efforts last year responding to HurricaneHarveyy, Irma, and Maria.

The team says they’ll first head to Virginia.

Members of the team say they find this kind of work rewarding because they can help people in a time of crisis.
