2 Bowling Green men arrested after pursuit exceeding 120 mph in Logan County

Weston

AUBURN, Ky. – Two men are accused of leading police on a high-speed pursuit in Logan County on Thursday evening.

Sheriff Stephen Stratton says a sergeant observed a vehicle traveling east on U.S. 68/80 near Cemetery Road reaching speeds exceeding 100 mph. The sergeant says the vehicle did not have a license plate and was traveling without lights. The vehicle forced other motorists off the road.

Authorities say the vehicle turned north onto KY 103 and a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle near Howlett Drive. The driver didn’t stop and continued at speeds exceeding 120 mph on both sides of the road.

Stratton says the driver lost control of the vehicle after entering a curve and left the right shoulder near the intersection of Herman Cox Road and KY 103. The vehicle returned to the roadway, crossed the centerline and rolled multiple times before coming to a rest on its roof in a field.

The deputy removed the passenger, 19-year-old Griffin D. Weston, of Bowling Green, from the vehicle. Authorities say the driver, 21-year-old Aaron Bratcher, of Bowling Green, was partially ejected from the vehicle and removed.

Stratton says Bratcher was transported to the Medical Center at Russellville and later flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Weston declined treatment.

Stratton says a firearm was found in the vehicle and seized as evidence.
