17-year-old charged with child sexual abuse material offenses in Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police says a teen is facing charges in a child sexual abuse material investigation.
According to the agency’s release on Tuesday, Oct. 27, troopers and detectives have arrested a 17-year-old after investigating allegations of possessing child sexual abuse material.
Authorities say in August, they received a report of a 17-year-old possessing those materials, leading to a law enforcement response at a residence on Birdie Avenue in Campbellsville.
Troopers say on Oct. 23, that investigation was presented before a Taylor County grand jury, which returned an indictment on the teen suspect, charging him with six counts of use of a minor under 16 in a sexual performance and six counts of possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor over 12 but under 18.
That same evening, authorities say they served the indictment on the 17-year-old.
The teen was then arrested and lodged at the Adair Youth Development Center. He is being held on a $250,000 cash bond, authorities say.
The investigation remains ongoing.
