19-year-old dead after collision in Henderson County

HENDERSON, Ky. – A 19-year-old man is dead following a collision in Henderson County on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Kentucky State Police, at around 1:18 p.m. on Sunday, troopers were requested to investigate a potentially fatal crash at the intersection of KY 359 and Grandpa Jones Road.

Troopers say they arrived on scene and determined a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Betty McPherson of Morganfield was traveling southbound on KY 359.

Authorities say an ATV operated by 19-year-old Leland Majors of Henderson was traveling eastbound on Grandpa Jones Road. According to troopers, Majors failed to stop at the intersection and entered into the path of McPherson.

Majors was transported to Deaconess Midtown Hospital, where he later died due to his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
