DAWSON SPRINGS, Ky. (WKDZ) – No injuries were reported Tuesday night after a small plane reportedly made an emergency landing in Dawson Springs.

According to a report by WKDZ, Maj. Joseph Stratton with the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office stated the plane landed near Industrial Park Road around 10:30 p.m.

WKDZ reports upon deputies’ arrival, they learned both occupants of the plane were walking around and had not reported injuries.

According to WKDZ, Stratton stated a pilot had said the plane experienced an engine failure.

Athough the pilot allegedly tried to land at an airport, the report says the grass runway was “not lit” and could not be seen at night.

Deputies on scene were assisted by Hopkins County Emergency Management, the Dawson Springs Fire Department and the Charleston Fire Department, along with Medical Center Ambulance Service.

The crash will be under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, according to WKDZ.
