Edmonson County issues burn ban until further notice

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – Edmonson County is now under a burn ban.

On Tuesday, Judge Executive Ronald Scott Lindsey issued an executive order banning all open burning due to “extraordinary drought conditions.”

The order states that campfires are permitted in an established campground.

“Violations of the order are considered Class A Misdemeanors and carry a penalty of up to a $500 fine and up to 365 days, or both fine and jail,” the order states.

The burn ban will be in effect until further notice.
