2026 Football Frenzy Preview: South Warren Spartans

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Local high school football starts in just one night, meaning one more Football Frenzy preview, presented by Bowling Green Fireplace & Grill.

To wrap up the previews, let’s check out the South Warren Spartans who stayed the course and competed until the final week of play a season ago.

“ We’ve been putting a lot of effort in, getting stronger, quicker,” senior linebacker Ryley Oller said. “Everybody’s just been locked in, getting ready, prepping, watching film.”

It’s just about time for year two in Class 6A for the Spartans who put up an unforgettable entry year.

13 wins and a runner-up finish in Lexington, but those memories now shift to the past, and the focus moves to a new schedule, a new season, and a new team motto: ‘Anchor the Chain.’

“The chain is like our team, and the anchor’s like our alpha. (In the) off-season, we talked about how we needed to have more alphas on the team, so we needed to really anchor our team, and that’s really what it comes from,” senior quarterback Camden Page said.

The Spartans had one of the best offenses in the state, powered by one of the top passing QB rooms in 2025.

Having senior Camden Page back means the team is ready to pick back up right where it left off.

“He’s a returning starter, and any time that you’re a returning starter and you got a year under your belt, you know, the game slows down for you,” head coach Brandon Smith said. “You act a little different, carry yourself a little different, and it’s no different for him.”

“There’s nothing like going out there on the first Friday night of the season, just going out there to play with your guys,” Page said.

Bryan Station is who will be on the opposing sideline for the first Friday night, marking step one in a 14-point process with an end goal, a standard, of lifting the top trophy at Kroger Field in December.

“That’s the beautiful thing about being involved in this program, and that’s the most pressure part about being involved in this program, the expectations are to win championships every year. Everything we do is set up and set around that,” Smith said.

“That’s the standard and these guys know that. They grow up in it and they understand that…There comes pressure with that, but I think they like it too, and if you don’t like it, then this is a hard place to be.”
