Child death under investigation in Harlan County

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police says it is investigating the death of a toddler in Harlan County Monday.

According to authorities, troopers were requested to assist the Cumberland Police Department around 12:25 p.m. at a residence in Harlan County.

Troopers say they responded with detectives to the scene and are in the early stages of an investigation.

The child was transported to Harlan ARH, where the Harlan County coroner pronounced the toddler dead.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
