Request for major disaster declaration sent to President, FEMA, says Governor Beshear

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Andy Beshear is requesting assistance from President Donald Trump and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) following statewide flooding in June.
Gov. Beshear issued the following statement on Facebook:
Today I submitted an official request to the President and FEMA for a major disaster declaration for Kentucky due to the severe weather and statewide flooding that occurred June 17-30. Public and Individual Assistance will be essential to help families recover and rebuild, and we are going to work hard to secure this federal support.
