Fatal Crash

LOGAN COUNTY, Ky. – One person is dead after a three-vehicle crash in Logan County on Thursday.

According to a release by the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Thursday at 11:09 p.m. to a three-vehicle collision on U.S. 79 South near the Todd County line.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation says a Nissan driven by 43-year-old Jennifer Danner of Russellville crossed the center line and sideswiped a southbound tractor-trailer driven by 34-year-old Aaron Kenley of Cedar Hill, Tennessee.

Deputies say following the impact, the Nissan continued into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with a southbound tractor-trailer driven by 41-year-old Charles Higdon of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Authorities say Danner was pronounced dead at the scene by the Logan County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation remains ongoing. At this time, investigators say they believe speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors in the collision.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office states it “extends its condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic incident.”
