SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A Scottsville man is behind bars after allegedly crashing into a home while under the influence.

According to a uniform citation, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded Wednesday afternoon to 906 Cedar Hill Road for a report of a vehicle that had crashed into a house.

Authorities say the driver, 31-year-old Mason Fox of Scottsville, was arrested due to an altercation with the homeowners.

Deputies say Fox admitted to being “too drunk to be driving” and striking the front of the house.

Authorities say the house sustained significant damage.

Deputies say one empty bottle of vodka and another half empty bottle of vodka were located within the vehicle.

Fox was transported to a Medical Center location for medical clearance. While there, authorities say he tried to escape the emergency room. Authorities say they brought Fox to the ground and deployed a taser. While trying to handcuff him, authorities say Fox tried to bite an officer in the leg.

Fox was taken into custody without further incident.

Fox remains at the Allen County Detention Center on a $10,000 cash bond. He faces charges of first-degree criminal mischief, assault of a police officer or probation officer, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, third offense, third-degree attempted escape, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct and possession of open alcoholic beverage in motor vehicle prohibited.
