1 dead after wrong-way vehicle crash in Pike County

META, Ky. – One person is dead following a wrong-way vehicle collision in Pike County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, a two-vehicle fatal collision occurred around 10:39 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 119 in the Meta community of Pike County.

Authorities say a preliminary investigation shows Harley Dempsey was driving a vehicle southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 119 when the vehicle collided with another vehicle driven by Stony Blackburn.

Troopers say Dempsey was pronounced dead by the Pike County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation.
