Barren County Schools students receive National Beta Convention awards, recognition
GLASGOW, Ky. – Barren County Schools (BCS) students received national honors at the National Beta Convention in Nashville.
According to BCS, students earned awards across academics, fine arts, leadership, and performing arts while representing their schools and community on the national stage. Thousands of students from the United States competed at the annual convention.
“Our students continue to show what is possible when they are challenged to pursue excellence,” said Superintendent Amy Irwin. “We are incredibly proud of each of them and grateful to the teachers, Beta sponsors, and families who helped make these achievements possible.”
The National Beta Convention is a culminating event each summer where individuals who have qualified during their respective State Conventions and Leadership Summits join to compete for a national title, according to its website.
Barren County schools/students receiving recognition are:
Barren County High School
- Brady Cook – Second Place, Social Studies – 9th Grade
- Emmory Shelton – Seventh Place, Sculpture – Division 1
- Jaycee Bunch – Tenth Place, On-site Cake Decorating – Division 2

Individual Honors
