1 dead, 1 flown for treatment after single-vehicle crash in Harlan County

HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Harlan County.

According to KSP, troopers responded to a single-vehicle collision on U.S. 119 near Metcalf Lane Saturday afternoon. When troopers arrived, they located a father and son inside the vehicle.

A preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle exited the road, struck a guardrail, overturned, and came to a rest.

The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at Harlan ARH Hospital. The passenger was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment.

The investigation is ongoing.
