Horse Cave to implement new safety road signs

HORSE CAVE Ky. – After testing the road signs, Horse Cave is now implementing new road signs as a way to encourage drivers to help keep roadside workers safe.

New electronic road signs are being put in Horse Cave after seeing them improve driver’s speed and safe driving. The Kentucky StatePolice and local tow operators are using these new road signs to improve safety for roadside workers.

AAA East Central’s services saw improvement from the original signs by 95%, seeing drivers slow down and switch lanes for roadside workers. These signs are to help enforce the Slow Down Move Over laws in Kentucky.

These new signs are to raise more attention to the importance of roadside workers safety, especially with the amount of accidents that cause concern for service technicians. On Wednesday, the signs will be released in Horse Cave, along with information about the effectiveness of the signs, and showing how the signs work.

After the event, to find out more information about the Slow Down Move Over laws you can visit the Kentucky transportation website at transportation.ky.gov.
