1 dead, 5 injured after Casey County crash

LIBERTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Casey County.

According to a release, KSP troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision on 7690 KY 70 near Pruitt Lane Sunday afternoon.

KSP’s preliminary investigation shows that 69-year-old Ronnie Lee, of Liberty, was driving south on KY 70 in his pickup truck when it crossed the center line and struck another pickup truck driven by 38-year-old Christina Baker, of Waynesburg. The vehicles collided head-on, and Baker’s truck overturned and continued into a ditch.

Lee was pronounced dead at the scene by the Casey County Coroner’s Office, according to the release.

Baker, an adult passenger and three juvenile passengers were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
