Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

EDMONSON COUNTY, Ky. – The Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office says it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints from July 3 through July 6.
According to a social media post by the sheriff’s office, the checkpoints will be located at Kentucky 728 and Nolin Dam Overlook, the intersection of Kentucky 259 and Kentucky 70, the intersection of South Main Street and Kentucky 70, the intersection of U.S. 31-W and Kentucky 259 and the intersection of Kentucky 101 and Kentucky 743 (New Grove Road).
The sheriff’s office says the checkpoints are an effort to promote highway safety in the county and target high traffic safety issues.
Traffic safety checkpoints remain a practice of multiple law enforcement agencies throughout Kentucky. According to the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office, a study has shown checkpoints reduce all crashes by 10 to 15%.
