LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. – Two people are facing charges after authorities say they located drugs in Laurel County.

According to a press release by Sheriff John Root with the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, detectives arrested 51-year-old Tricia Croley of Williamsburg and 48-year-old Damon Bennett of Williamsburg on Thursday.

Authorities say the arrest occurred after they observed a vehicle parked in an employee area of a local business in Laurel County.

Upon making contact with the vehicle’s occupants, authorities say they noticed a plastic bag containing suspected narcotics.

During this time, authorities say Croley gave a fake ID card belonging to another woman.

In addition, authorities say they found another bag labeled “definitely not a bag full of drugs” in the vehicle. According to the sheriff’s office, the bag contained suspected narcotics.

Authorities say they confirmed Bennett and Croley had outstanding warrants. Both individuals were arrested and transported to the Laurel County Corrections Center without further incident.

Bennett is charged with failure to appear.

Croley is charged with giving an office false identifying information, two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), third-degree possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana and controlled substance prescription not in original container, first offense.
