Man, juvenile dead after Adair County crash

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal crash in Adair County.

According to KSP Public Affairs Officer Trooper Jonathan Houk, troopers responded to a two-vehicle injury collision on KY 61 near Blue Ridge Circle Friday afternoon.

KSP’s preliminary investigation shows that 56-year-old Wayne Werth, of Columbia, was driving south in a compact SUV on KY 61. Werth crossed the centerline and traveled into the northbound lane of KY 61. Werth’s vehicle crashed into another compact SUV driven by a 16-year-old juvenile. The juvenile was unable to avoid the collision.

Houk says Werth and the juvenile were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
