Dollar General Literacy Foundation awards grants to SKYCTC to support adult education programming

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Dollar General Literacy Foundation (DGLF) awarded Southcentral Kentucky Community and Technical College (SKYCTC) $28,000 in grants, according to a release.
The grants will support adult literacy programs across Barren, Metcalfe, Simpson, and Warren counties.
The release states the grants will provide additional funding to SKYCTC Adult Education, which provides instruction and support services for literacy skills, GEDs, college preparation and pursuing career opportunities.
According to the release, the grants are part of DGFL’s record-setting literacy grant cycle. The cycle is more than the $13.2 million awarded in May 2025.
SKYCTC Adult Education also provides WorkKeys preparation and testing, English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction, and U.S. citizenship preparation classes.
