Man charged after allegedly stealing van in Central City

MAMMOTH CAVE, Ky. – One man is behind bars after authorities say he stole a van out of Central City.
According to a uniform citation, the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Department responded Thursday to a report of a suspicious vehicle off of Trailwood Drive in Leitchfield.
Authorities say upon arrival, they confirmed the vehicle was a stolen van.
Deputies say the van had been taken Monday morning and had been flagged in Leitchfield by FLOK.
The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office then made contact with the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Paul Hack of Leitchfield.
Authorities say Hack stated that on Monday morning, he had someone take him to Elizabethtown but ended up in Central City.
According to the citation, Grayson County authorities then asked Hack if he had stolen a vehicle to get home. Hack stated he “didn’t know what else to do,” authorities say.
Hack was arrested and remains at the Hart County Jail.
He is charged with receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more.
