Federal public assistance approved for Kentucky counties affected by winter storm

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Andy Beshear announced the approval of public assistance for 18 Kentucky counties impacted by the winter storm in January 2026 on Sunday.

According to a release, President Donald Trump and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the funding.

Allen, Barren, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Jackson, Laurel, Lee, McCreary, Menifee, Metcalfe, Monroe, Owsley, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell, Wayne and Whitley were designated for public assistance.
