Bowling Green man charged with drug trafficking following traffic stop in Hopkinsville

HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is charged with drug trafficking following a traffic stop in Christian County on May 21.

According to a uniform citation, the Hopkinsville Police Department initiated a traffic stop on East Parkview Drive after observing a turn signal violation.

The driver is identified as 32-year-old Alijajuan Williams, of Bowling Green.

A K9 officer was requested during the investigation. The K9 officer indicated a positive alert.

Officers say Williams exited the vehicle while holding and agreed to a search.

During the investigation, officers located suspected narcotics inside the vehicle and more than four grams of suspected cocaine in the cup Williams was holding.

Williams was arrested and lodged at the Christian County Jail.

He is charged with failure to or improper signal, tampering with physical evidence, and trafficking cocaine second offense.

According to a uniform citation, a passenger in the vehicle, Kristina Price, of Princeton, said the suspected narcotics belonged to her. She was cited and released.

The investigation is ongoing.
