Lewisburg School receives $210,000 from School Uplift

LEWISBURG, Ky. – Lewisburg School in Logan County is benefitting from $210,000 provided by the School Uplift program through the Tennessee Valley Authority.
On Wednesday afternoon, the school received the funding, a portion of the total $3.3 million that will help fund energy and classroom upgrades across 121 schools in the TVA region.
“TVA and local power company partners are committed to making a positive impact on the communities we serve through School Uplift,” said Ray Knotts, TVA senior director of demand management. “By reducing energy costs, we’re making more funds available for education and creating a better learning environment for students and teachers that helps give every child the opportunity to succeed.”
According to the TVA, funding ranged from $10,000 to $210,000 and was awarded based on a score each school received by cutting their energy waste and engaging their school community.
The TVA says it launched the School Uplift program in 2021.
The TVA says it is looking to enroll schools in the 2026-27 School Uplift program. Public and private schools in TVA’s seven-state service area are encouraged to apply. To learn more, click here.
