CBS News projects Charles Booker as winner of Kentucky Democratic primary

KENTUCKY – CBS News says it is projecting U.S. Senate candidate Charles Booker as the winner of Kentucky’s Democratic primary race.

According to the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s official website, as of 9:15 p.m., Booker has 42% of the vote with 97,317 total votes, while Amy McGrath has 39% of the vote with 91,357 votes.

In addition, the Commonwealth’s website states candidate Pamela Stevenson stands at 6% of the vote with 14,645 votes, while Dale Lewis Romans has 4% of the vote with 8,932 total votes, Logan Forsythe has 4% of the vote with 8,214 total votes, Vincent Anthony Thompson has 3% of the vote with 6,085 total votes and Joshua Blanton Sr. stands at 3% of the vote with 5,851 votes.

On Tuesday, NBC News projected Rep. Andy Barr as the winner of the Republican primary in the race for retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell’s seat in Kentucky.
