Warren County firefighter suspended amid rape investigation

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Ky. – A Warren County firefighter is reportedly suspended amid a rape investigation in Campbell County.

According to a uniform citation, 23-year-old Austin Chandler of Bowling Green was arrested on May 12 in Warren County by the Kentucky State Police on an indictment warrant.

He now faces a first-degree rape charge in Campbell County, the citation states.

According to the indictment filed on May 7, 2026, the alleged incident occurred in September 2025.

Court documents further state Chandler has worked as a firefighter.

Warren County Fire Coordinator Bill Rector stated on Monday that “the individual involved has been operationally and administratively suspended with all accesses removed pending the outcome of the legal proceedings.”

Rector further stated, “The leadership of the Plano Fire Department has been fully engaged and communicative with me to ensure things are handled collaboratively.”

Chandler remains at the Campbell County Detention Center on a $250,000 cash bond, according to jail records.

Arraignment for Chandler took place Monday at noon, court records state.
