Units respond to reported structure fire at BG Recycling

Joker says the fire is contained but is still active. Operations will be ongoing for some time.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. –  News 40 is on scene of a reported structure fire at BG Recycling on Memphis Junction Road.

According to Bowling Green Fire Department public information officer Elyse Jonker, units were dispatched Thursday at 12:28 p.m. to a brush/trash fire that was later upgraded to a structure fire based on dispatch information.

Upon arrival, Jonker says crews found heavy smoke and fire that had spread to the building.

Crews have established a water supply and are working to extinguish the fire.
