Milby named Russellville Schools athletic director

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – Russellville High School announced new sports leadership Wednesday.

According to a release, Trent Milby has been named Athletic Director for Russellville High School and Middle School, effective for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Milby joins Russellville following his tenure as Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Berea College, where he collected 500 career wins. He also served as Assistant Athletic Director – Coordinator of Athletic Recruitment and Development.

Milby also served as a coach at Marion County High School. He finished his tenure with a 208-36 record, including a 39-0 record in the 2012-2013 season. Milby was named 2013 Naismith National Women’s Coach of the Year award winner.

“Trent Milby is a distinguished leader who fundamentally understands that athletic excellence and academic integrity are mutually reinforcing. His extensive background as both a championship-winning coach and an Assistant Athletic Director provides him with a rare, comprehensive perspective on building a high-performing athletic culture. The hiring committee at RHS is confident that his vision and expertise will be a positive step for the athletic department, and we are excited for the next chapter of success for our student-athletes,” said Russellville High School Principal Drew Teel.
