Construction crews, firefighters contain embankment fire in Butler County

CROMWELL, Ky. – The Cromwell Fire Department and Scott & Murphy Inc. responded to a fire Tuesday.

According to the Kentucky Transportation District, crews and firefighters battled a small embankment fire on Interstate 165 in Butler County.

KYTC says Scott & Murphy crews were working on a nearby bridge project and located the fire. Crews acted quickly to contact the Cromwell Fire Department to put out the fire.

KYTC says the fire had the potential to create major damage.

The fire was determined to have been caused by an item thrown from a vehicle, according to KYTC.
