Delk signs to play baseball at Wabash Valley College

FRANKLIN, Ky. – Franklin-Simpson baseball is just one of three teams in the 4th Region to have 20 or more wins this season, and a big factor in those outcomes has been do-it-all senior Brady Delk.

Tuesday morning, Delk locked in his next destination by signing to play baseball at Wabash Valley College with the Warriors.

Delk leads the Wildcats in hits and batting average on offense and also has the most wins on the team as a pitcher and boasts a lockdown defense at shortstop.

He had a big career as quarterback for the football team but shared that it was never in doubt, baseball is his dream sport and where his future lies.

Delk said he didn’t know for sure if college baseball was going to be in the cards coming into 2026, but a strong senior campaign presented the opportunity, and he credits the experience he got at a younger age for shaping him into the player he is today.

“ Being in a district championship game as an eighth grader and being in a regional game as an eighth grader, it doesn’t do anything but set you up for success because you’re learning failure, you’re learning what it means to play in big games at such a young age,” Delk said. “That doesn’t do anything but make you stronger and make you more capable of being able to take on that pressure as you go on throughout your high school career.”

“This place has meant so much to me. The coaches, the people, the team, just Franklin-Simpson overall is the reason that I’m going to Wabash. They taught me how to play the sports that I play the right way and how to do things the right way, and I think that’s what I love about it.”
